In my last post I wrote about the Pasta-Popcorn-Chocolate Diet, and this week I have been trying it out. I must say, that this is one of the most delicious diets I have been on. The breakfast which consisted of wheat muesli with strawberries was simply optimal. And the fact that you were allowed to eat popcorn and chocolate really gave this diet a few extra points.
The only down-side of this diet is the constant eating of pasta dishes which really becomes monotonous after the third day. There is only so much you can do with pasta and low-fat dressings. Though the pasta part of the diet annoyed me, I must say, that I never felt hungry. Because of the many snacks with popcorn and fruit, I never felt like I was forcing myself to be on this diet. I actually enjoyed it.
I still think that this diet is too good to be true though. I cannot imagine how your healt could benefit in any way by the use of this diet. The high level of carbs and starch gives me doubts, and any diet that comes with warnings of maximum duration (1 week) basically cannot be optimal.
The Pasta-Popcorn-Chocolate Diet is a fun, but useless diet. If you are going for weightloss and healthy lifestyles, this diet is not for you. But if you are just looking for a fun project or a change in diet, I can recommend it. It is fairly easy to keep, and as I said, the breakfast ist unbeatable.
If you have ever tried the Pasta-Popcorn-Chocolate Diet, please comment and tell me about your experiences and what you think about it.
Haha, what a nice blog with great articles. I can’t believe you have really done this diet. Sounds fun but I can image that it gets a bit boring with time. So weird they say in their instructions not to eat bananas but suggest a banana smoothie. Great post with lots of humor! I’ll definitely need to have a look at the other posts as well!
Have a good one! Sarah
Hi Sarah
thank you for your comment!
Yes this diet was really the funniest diet I have tried out. Yes it got very boring in the end, so Im happy it was just for one week.
Haha yes, I thought so too! There are many sources online about this diet, and a few of them was contradicting eachother a bit. I tried to sum it up as best as I could.
Thank you so much, I wich you a nice week!
I could imagine eating that much pasta would become boring quickly! The breakfast does sound yummy! I have another one you should try, it’s so nice:
2 diced apples
5-6 tablespoons plain yoghurt (no sugar or fruit flavour)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Just mix it all togehter i a bowl and don’t be affraid of the large amount of cinnamon! You can even add more if you’d like.
I read somewhere that cinnamon speeds up your metabolism. Don’t know if it’s true, though.
XO
Dear Hanna,
thank you so much for your comment, and for the recipie!
It sounds really good, I will definitely try that out
I love cinnamon, so I will jump right in to it. And I will look it up and see if cinnamon has any awesome powers like that that I did not know of.
Thanks again,
Janni
Hi have to agree, this diet sounds like heaven. It appeals to many people, because it contains their favorite food- chocolate! I also researched a bit about this diet, since, like you said, it sounds too good to be true. I found out, that the chocolate diet is actually very common, a piece of dark chocolate is supposed to be really good. Just check out this short clip:
But i also read, that there may be some health risks involved. It seems so contradictory. So i agree, if someone wants do go on a diet, they should do a helpful one and not pretend to do something good for their body by eating chocolate.
Did you actually lose weight over the past weeks?
Which diet was your favorite one?
And do you feel better after your diet marathon?
Hi Ariane,
Thank you so much for your comment!
Yes, this diet is very popular, specially in the United States. It reaches a lot of people, that would normally not go on a diet, because this one sounds fun.
Thank you for the link, it was very interesting.
I have also heard that dark chocolate should be good for you. It is said to be very good for your heart and metabolism. Plus it stimulates your Endorphin production, which is not too bad either
No not really, maybe a few kilos throughout my project, but nothing special. I guess the reason for this is that in the time between my diets, I eat all kinds of bad food. After having been on a diet, I am so frustrated that I eat everything I had been missing. So that pretty much balance it out.
I have become a big fan of the Blood Type Diet. After having read the book, and gotten into all the details, I really saw the sence in it. Even when I will be fed up with this diet testing, I believe that I will continue to follow that diet or lifestyle to a large extent.
Hmm.. Physically I do not feel a difference at all. But I have altered my opinion on diets on some levels. I have gotten a deeper understanding of how and why people choose an alternative nutritunal lifestyle. I now see how big of an impact, what we eat, has on our body and lifes. In the future I will definitely think more about what i put in my mouth.
But I am basically still against the diets that focus on fast weight-loss and cleansing of the body. I do not believe that these diets are healthy, and contribute positively to healthy and sencefull eating habits.
Thank you for your interest, I hope you will find my posts and answer helpfull.
Kind regards
Janni
