I have never been on a diet in my entire life!
I dont know anything about proteins, calories, or carbohydrates. I simply eat whatever I feel like. And if I’m still hungry, I eat more.
I do not understand why people starve themself for a week just to loose a few kilos, that they will almost certainly gain again after going back to their normal eating habits. Why put yourself through such torment? Then at least I have understanding towards the people who do it for health reasons or people that have fully chosen another lifestyle like vegetarians and vegans. At least they restrict their nutrition because of their believes and stick to it. The killing of sweet innocent animals in order to feed us brutal humans is of cause an unpleasant thought. But the thing is.. I love meat!
Constantly new diet trends are popping up . Suddently 1 mio poeple are not eating carbs, and tomorrow they are only eating proteins and pineappe. Some say it is bad for you to eat eggs, others say you may only eat them scrambled. Many people go around thinking about how many points they have left for dinner. I would go crazy if I had to do math everytime I got hungry.
Yes, I have many predjudices about diets and other eating lifestyles. As you say: predjudice is ignorance. And I dont want to be ignorant. So I have chosen to investigate further. I will try out a variety of diets and lifestyles on my own body and try to keep an open mind.
I will judge the different diets by difficulty, efficiency, and satisfactory rate. That is, how many times did I cheat, how much weight did I loose (,how many animals did I save), and how do I feel.
Have you ever been on a diet that you really believe in? Or have you just heard of a interesting diet or certain recepies, then please write me. I am open for suggestions and I will be very happy to hear about you and your diet experiences.
Thank you for your interest

Dear Janni,
as a general note, I like the style and design of that blog very much. It reminds me of stylish restaurants, which are currently spreading out where you people and Yuppie’s are looking for exitement. So diet fits to that design.
Going through your blog around 5-10 minutes, which is a lot for my tough schedule, I found some interesting news, however, all of them derive from the same error:
Being on plenty of diets for more than 20 yrs, there is only one golden rule that works to reduce your weight: eat less than your body burns. If you follow that rule, you will succeed. This is very similar – to net working capital
First you draw a balance and you have two choices: do more sport or what ever in order to increase the burn rate, or keep your lifestyle the same and eat less. What kind of food you eat has to be adapted on personal preferences.
Currently, Im on a diet and you can follow my progress in Facebook under Via Claudia. My simple carot is, that I will do a tour crossing the alps from Garmisch to lake Garda with friends in September with my MTB. This is my dream for years and I dont want to fail due to own weight and little training. My simple plan: do more sport (every day), eat less and my current burn rate is c100-200gr per day.
I hope this helps
Hagen
Dear Hagen,
thank you for your comment, I am glad that you like my blog.
And I appreciate very much that you took the time to look at it
I totally agree with you. Excercise is very important, and I think that you should keep it simple. I believe that the way to a healthy body is simply a combination of sports and eating the right things in reasonable amounts.
I am not a fan of diets that to some degree starve you. It is important for the body to be full, so that it get sufficient energy, vitamins, etc. to maintain its functions and the immune system.
I think that the key factor is ”Reason or common sence”. I believe that you should be able to eat any kind of food or snack you want, but of cause in reasonable amounts and not that often. If you totally deny yourself any indulgement, the chance of an irresistable craving or you stopping the diet is so much higher.
I have not written and tried out these diets and lifestyles, because I believe in them all, but because I wanted to get informed, and inform others about them. I have learned a lot, and I believe that some of them gives you really good advise in what is good for your body, and what you should avoid.
I really hope that you will succed with your diet, and maintain your sports activity. Your plan and your ”carrot” sounds very good, and I am sure that you will reach Lake Garda in personal glory
Thanks again,
Janni
